The unlock bundle supplies a DNA Manipulator, a Gene Scanner and 4 blank DNA Data Disks, giving you the equipment for trait work.
After the unlock, Dr. Jackson starts supplying related DNA equipment. Check his stock when he visits rather than assuming every item will be available.

Extracting and installing a trait
Choose whether you want to capture a trait from a seed or apply one already stored on a disk.
Extract from a seed
- Use the source seed with a disk in the output slot to capture its trait.
- Expect ordinary extraction to lose the seed. Use a Genetic Stabilizer Module if you need to preserve it.
Install on a target seed
- Use a disk containing the desired trait with the target seed.
- A successful installation spends a disk use. If the seed already has the trait, installation can raise its level.

What to check when the job is not progressing
Check the power supply before ending the day. DNA work advances at night; without power it cannot start or progress.
