Release date, price and free demo

DREADMOOR is scheduled for Steam Early Access on November 9, 2026. This is the start of Early Access, rather than the finished 1.0 release. Dream Dock develops the game; Digital Vortex Entertainment publishes it.

The October 19 announcement sets a planned US launch price of $19.99, with a separate optional Supporter Pack at $4.99. Regional prices differ; check your local Steam store for the final price.

Open the free DREADMOOR demo on Steam to try the game before buying. The store links this demo separately from the paid game. Demo progress transfer to Early Access is unconfirmed here.

For regional unlock hours, check the release-time map in the October 19 announcement. This guide confirms the date only.

What is announced for Early Access?

The October 15 announcement describes one major region, the core gameplay loop and story content. Fishing, scavenging and improving your trawler support longer expeditions; travelling at night brings additional risk.

Reaching the end of the available story does not close the world. The developer says you can continue exploring, collecting rare catches and upgrading equipment. That is ongoing play in the initial region, not a promise that all future regions are available at launch.

Fishing, crafting and boat upgrades

The Steam feature description connects these systems. It describes the game as a whole; it does not establish that every listed upgrade is in the demo.

  • Fishing and trading: find fishing spots, choose bait and sell catches. The store warns that creatures in the hold can eat one another, so catch storage matters too.
  • Salvage and crafting: search buildings, caves and wrecks for materials and blueprints. Crafting covers bait, harpoons, medicines and survival tools.
  • Boat preparation: dry-dock upgrades include engines, propellers, hull reinforcement, fuel storage and lighting.
  • Combat: encounters take place in real time on land and at sea.

For the demo, the three documented fish, their bait and the two Workbench lure recipes are in Fish & Bait; rod technique is in the Fishing Guide. Exact fish locations, the full bait list, upgrade costs and damage values are not verified here. This overview should not be read as an item database or a tested progression route.

Before you play

Is DREADMOOR multiplayer?

The Steam store lists single-player. An official cooperative mode is not confirmed by the sources used here.

Which platforms and languages are confirmed?

The Steam listing specifies Windows. Console editions and Steam Deck compatibility are unconfirmed here. The October 19 post lists 12 launch languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Japanese. Voice acting is announced for English and Russian; the other listed languages have localized text and subtitles.

How long will Early Access last?

The developer estimates 6–12 months. Additional areas, fish, fishing mechanics and boat upgrades are future plans in the store's Early Access Q&A. That estimate is not a fixed 1.0 release date, and planned additions should not be treated as playable launch content.

Checked November 1, 2026 against the official store and dated developer announcements. This is a pre-release reference; no independent game testing is claimed.
