Version & evidence. v1.0.0.x coverage: official 1.0 Aquafarmer confirmation; third-party mixed Build 26274380 / 26337366 and static research with unspecified field versions.
How to start fish farming
You can choose Aquafarmer when starting a run: it appears in the official 1.0 launch profession list.
For an ordinary shopkeeping run, the guides describe unlocking Aquaculture through Wild’s Network, then obtaining fish or related equipment from Retired Aquafarmer. Check which route you are following: the profession’s starting supplies and the network-upgrade bundle are separate packages.
Unlock and supplier guidance: GameWikiStation and Probably-Stolen.app; the latter cites GameWikiStation.
Setting up your first fish tank
- Prepare a tank for the Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS), with liquid, energy and suitable rearing conditions.
- Check the water supply, feed and contamination as the stock grows.
Tank requirements and upkeep: GameWikiStation and Nico’s Aquaculture research.
Choose fish for breeding or harvesting
The guides describe different reproduction limits, so plan around the species you have:
| Fish | Breeding expectation |
|---|---|
| Tilapia | Eggs → fry → adult fish form a breeding chain. |
| Eels and sturgeon | Listed as non-breeding in captivity; do not apply the Tilapia loop. |
Species distinctions: GameWikiStation and Nico’s Aquaculture research.
How to process fish and collect roe
- Use a knife to process fish for meat.
- Use Surgery Tools to collect roe from a live sturgeon. Consider its health before repeating the collection.
Processing methods: GameWikiStation and Nico’s Aquaculture research.
Recheck the tank after expanding
Tank upgrades include grid expansion and energy-efficiency improvements. After adding space, recheck liquid capacity and power before continuing the production loop.
Upgrade mechanisms: GameWikiStation and Nico’s Aquaculture research.
Version limits
The detailed mechanics come from mixed-build guides and static research, rather than our own playtest. Unlock fees, power-generation figures, species water volumes, growth timers and guaranteed yields remain unconfirmed here.
