Casualties: Unknown Wiki

Casualties: Unknown Conditions & Moodles

Every status condition (moodle) named in the demo 7.0.1 and 1.0-Pre3 text files: 175 in total, grouped by body system with each condition's tiers in order.

Pre-release page. Launches on Steam November 9, 2026 at 3pm CET (14:00 UTC). Data here comes from the Steam page, the demo and official developer posts, and each page says which version it reflects. We'll update it for the full release.

Version: condition names come from the developer's demo 7.0.1 and 1.0-Pre3 text files. 8 appear only in the 1.0 text and are marked 1.0. 4 appear only in the demo text and are marked demo only. The notes under each group come from the official patch notes, with the version in brackets. For how to treat each problem, see the medical guide.

Brain & consciousness

Comatose · Concussed · Unconscious · Incapacitated · Sleeping · Fainting · Impaired speech · Severe hearing loss · Hollow · Bad sleep

  • Brain damage is less punishing in the full game. (September 2026 update)
  • The reversed-controls effect of brain damage now flips your screen horizontally so you can tell it is happening. (6.0)

Heart & circulation

Stroke · Pulmonary embolism · Ventricular fibrillation · Palpitations · Cardiac arrest · Circulatory collapse · Hypertensive crisis · Shock · Tachycardia · Bradycardia

  • The demo reworked the whole cardiovascular simulation, adding two types of defibrillator and new heart drugs. (6.0)
  • Fibrillation only rises quickly above 280 bpm (4× faster, previously 5×). Amiodarone lowers fibrillation faster. (6.1)
  • Defibrillators no longer always fix asystole. (6.1)
  • During a hypertensive crisis, the stroke chance is 2% per second (down from 5%). Strokes can be turned off in run settings. (6.1, 7.0)
  • Opioids cause vasodilation, and sepsis affects blood pressure much less than before. (6.1)

Breathing & oxygen

Respiratory arrest · Lung failure · Critical hypoxemia · Hypoventilation · Critical barotrauma

  • Severe blood loss no longer removes the need to breathe in some situations. (7.0 fix)
  • The barotrauma tiers (High pressure to Critical barotrauma) appear only in the 1.0 text. (1.0-Pre3 text)

Pain, drugs & toxins

Toxic crisis · Agony · Opioid overdose · Dying of withdrawal · Stimulated · Drug overdose · Chernobyl wannabe · Energized · Adrenaline · Rapid neuron regeneration sickness

  • Venom was added. Cave ticks now inject 75% less venom per bite. (6.0, 7.0)
  • You can overdose on anti-rad. The Ionized layer modifier spawns some anti-rad around the layer. (6.0)
  • Antidepressant overdose is less serious than it was. (6.0)

Bleeding & blood

Catastrophic bleeding · Internal bleeding · Hemothorax · Lethally hypervolemic

  • Each bleed severity has its own moodle, and the internal bleeding moodle also changes with severity. (6.0)
  • Low abdomen muscle health causes internal bleeding. (7.0 fix)
  • Hemothorax lowers your maximum oxygen. (7.0)
  • Procoagulant makes your blood more viscous. Clotting mush and antiseptic mush were buffed. (6.0, 7.0)

Food, water & body

Totally exhausted · Half-asleep · Starving · Full · Desiccated · Water-intoxicated · Grossly sick · Emaciated · Obese · Hampered

  • Eating with a broken jaw causes much less pain, but food is 25% less effective. (6.0)
  • Metabolism rate and encumbrance cap are adjustable run settings. (7.0)

Bones, joints & limbs

Fractured bone · Dislocated joint · Fractured neck · Fractured ribs · Dislocated jaw · Dislocated spine · Disfigured · Half-blind · Blind · Amputated · Broken claws · Boosted regrowth · Prosthetic limb · Loose screws · Bent prosthesis · Critical material loss

  • Losing a limb is no longer permanent in the full game. Prostheses come in three tiers, and the top tier is better than a normal limb. Repairing them works differently from healing. (September 2026 update)
  • Amputation hurts a bit less, and amputating limbs is easier in the full game. (6.1, September 2026 update)
  • Splints and tourniquets come off correctly when a limb is lost. (7.0 fix)

Infection & immunity

Life-threatening infection · Septic shock · Very dirty · Immunocompromised · Immunocompetent

  • Infections are visible even when you play unchipped. (6.0)
  • Infection speed and infection chance are both adjustable run settings. (7.0)

Temperature & wet

Heatstroke · Freezing to death · Water-logged

  • Heat sources no longer cool you down when you are already too hot. (7.0 fix)
  • Hot, Scorching, Cold, Freezing, Flooded and Rainy are all possible layer modifiers. (demo text)

Mood & mind

Miserable · Shell shocked · Gleeful · Last stand · Sense of impending doom · HORRIFIED · FOCUSED

  • Happiness drifts back toward zero faster, especially below −50. Low-mood effects kick in a little later. (6.0)
  • Mood normalizes faster while you sleep. (7.0)
  • A last stand sets your happiness to about 10, depending on your state. (7.0)
